My Trip to the “Rock”, Newfoundland That Is!

We visited the East coast of Nfld, specifically, Centreville/Wareham area in Bonavista Bay. The scenery was beautiful and the trip was fantastic.
Weather was great, 25 – 27 (before a shot at Nfld weather), yes, that was in Celsius.
Weather can impact a holiday big time so we made the most of it by spending two days hanging out on beautiful beaches (the air was warm but trust me the water was cold, now I know why I swim like a rock) and one day crusing on a long liner, fishing and touring the outlying Islands.
I must say, there were lots and lots of Cod out there in the ocean. Seals haven’t got them all yet.
We stayed in 5 cottages close to a Salmon River and only 10 minutes from town, which meant there were family and friends dropping by all day/night long.
A summer trip to Newfoundland should be on your bucket list.
Anyway please have a look at the pictures that have been posted in the new Pictures page on our site... some guy wearing a Talking Canadian shirt just kept popping up in the pictures, just like that friendly squirrel out West.

Way to show us who you are Keith!
Just kidding... awesome pictures man.
How did you travel?
Hey Ivan,
We flew into Gander then drove 45 minutes to Centreville area. One of the beaches that we visited was in Banting Memorial Municipal Park in Musgrave Harbour. Banting, one of the guys ( Best the other) that co-developed Insulin process, perished in a plane crash in that area in 1941.
The North-East side of the Island is beautiful, something like area around Blow Me Down Provincial Park in Bay of Islands area about 60 km west of Corner Brook.
