Member Accounts

If you haven't noticed already, you can now register accounts on the Talking Canadian website.  In fact, you can now only post in the TC forums if you're logged-in to your account.  You don't need to login to post a comment on the blogs... just in the forums.  Although, if you're logged-in, you don't have to fill-in the Author fields when posting comments to blogs.

Two things you should note:

1. As a member of Talking Canadian, you can subscribe to page updates.  For example, you can subscribe to the Blog page which means any time an article is posted or modified or... someone posts a comment, you will be notified by e-mail.  You can also subscribe to the Forums page where you will be notified every time someone posts a message... or if you want, you can subscribe to a particular thread if you want to simply track a specific discussion (maybe a topic you've posted).
2. You can change your display name for your account.  When logged-in, you can click on your name at the top right of the page and then click "Edit Profile".  There you will be able to set your display name as well as change any other info associated to your account... like your password.  Changing your display name comes in handy if you don't want your posts to be signed with your full name.

There are a few other things you can do with your member account but I'll let you guys figure that out.  It's actually pretty intuitive.  But if you have any questions, just e-mail me and I'll help you out.

For you regular posters, thanks for hanging around our site and posting.  It puts us in touch with our listeners and we love it.  Hopefully, the Talking Canadian community will continue to grow as we pump out more episodes!?
