Episode 41: What? Don't We Have A Vase?

Would you believe I managed to recover the show?  Software recovery tool and $185 later, the accidentally deleted "Episode 41" has been recovered.

Here are some of the topics we discussed in this show:

  • Olympics and Paralympics 2010
  • Canadian Women's Hockey Team contravercial victory celebrations
  • Canadian Women's Coach and her attire during the games
  • Crosby's Golden Goal
  • Changing the Canadian National Anthem
  • Marital Advice (in response to a listener e-mail)
  • Sports Athletes as Role Models for our kids
  • Pooping in public washrooms
  • Stuff...
  • And some other stuff...

Many great e-mails for this show - thank you.

It was very expensive to get this show published so... well... hope you enjoy it!!

All For Not!

Last night we recorded Episode 41... the show was about 1:40 long and probably one of our better shows to date.  We had lots of great e-mails, interesting discussions and debates and... the show was pretty damn funny!!

AND THEN... I lost it all!  That's right... all that work for nothing!

It was late, I was tired... and I made a huge boo boo; lost the whole show!  I still feel sick to my stomach!

We will try to get together and record another show later this week and in that show, I will explain in more detail exactly what happened.  One thing for sure, I will never make that same mistake again.

Episode 40: Sorry, Am I Interrupting?

Monica starts the show off by asking an interesting question and we were all very surprised by the answer Joe gave.

The whole world recently tuned in to watch/listen to Tiger's speech... I had no idea how upset Monica was over his press conference (if you wanna call it that) but none-the-less, we all had a lot to say about that.

We also spent a good chunk of time discussing the Olympics... I mean how could you not!?  So many great stories (and some not so great), we just had to.

And near the end, we read an e-mail from a listener who had a comment about our previous episode where we touched on religion.  That sparked the religion debate once again and pretty much ended the show on that note.

We had lots of fun recording this one... the topics were interesting and we were all just in a great mood (that usually helps).

Oh yeah... and Keith runs really fast!

Episode 39: Textbookses...

The full TC crew is back for this episode... yes, Monica's infectious laugh is back!  But it was kind of a strange night... all of us were extremely tired during the show and that sometimes translates to a good show when we have the "tired giggles" but that wasn't the case in this episode.  Maybe the topics were too serious... I'm not sure, however, I think it was still a good show just maybe not as entertaining as some of our previous episodes.

In this show, we talk a little bit about Brendan Burke's tragic death, the Superbowl, Apple's new iPad and the Olympics.  Lots of concern about the Olympics since it all starts this weekend and uh... there's no snow!!!  We also wonder who will be the Canadian who lights the Olympic flame to begin the games.

Later in the show, we discuss religion and our beliefs although Monica stayed rather quiet during that discussion... I think she felt outnumbered and wasn't in the mood to engage in a religious debate.

A quick reminder, our get-together is this Saturday (Feb. 13th) at the Corner Bar & Grill on Bank Street.  Both the Sens Underground and Talking Canadian crew will be there along with a number of listeners.  So if you live in Ottawa or happen to be in town this weekend, come join us (777 Bank Street). We will be there around 6:00 PM so come early if you can, we expect a packed house.

Episode 38: Felt Sorry for that Kid!

Monica wasn't able to make it tonight but sitting-in for her was the one and only… Russell, the host of Sens Underground.  Of course on this show, he goes by his real name - Rick.

There's not as much laughing in this episode (not because of Rick), it's just different without Monica's laughter livening-up the show.  But we still had a blast and Rick did an awesome job!  Was hoping for more cheesy jokes from him but oh well…

If some of you would like to meet both the Talking Canadian and Sens Underground crew, we're having a big get together on February 13th at the Corner Bar & Grill down in the glebe (777 Bank St. to be exact).  There will be a lot of listeners of both podcasts showing-up so come have some Beau's beer with us, meet the gang and some of the loyal listeners, watch the Sens game and have a blast.

Hope to see you there!
